SUMMARY:The Arboretum's Bonsai Exhibition Garden in Summer: Curator's Talk & Tour
DESCRIPTION:Established in October 2005\, the Bonsai Exhibition Garden is a signature feature of the Arboretum and a unique environment displaying up to 50 specimens at a time. Of particular importance are the plants native to the Blue Ridge\, including American hornbeam\, red maple and eastern white pine\, which bring the thousand-year tradition of bonsai home to the mountains of Western North Carolina. Join Bonsai Curator Arthur Joura on this entertaining and informative after-hours tour of the garden at its peak\, a fitting showcase for the specimens. DESCRIPTION:Thomas Mangelsen pays the Arboretum a virtual visit!  Join us online Thursday\, August 19 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. as the photographer talks about the prolific 40-year career that has taken him to the last of the world’s wild places. You can even submit your questions in advance to adulteducation@ncarboretum.org   \nThis event is free\, but participants must register in advance and capacity is limited. Instructions for joining via Zoom will be included in a reminder email sent to registrants one day prior to the event. \nPlease add adulteducation@ncarboretum.org to your contacts to ensure our emails do not end up in your spam folder. A recording of the program will be made available to registered participants for a limited period to provide access to those with scheduling conflicts. \nThe visit is offered through Adult Education Programs\, courtesy of The North Carolina Arboretum Society.
