SUMMARY:Streams & Creeks of the Arboretum
DESCRIPTION:Streams & Creeks of the Arboretum\nwith Lauren Lampley \nON-SITE  |  Saturday\, January 18  |  1 – 4 pm \nBlue Ridge Naturalist – Elective \n  \nJoin Lauren on an exploration of the NC Arboretum’s streams and creeks to learn about how they play an important role in our park’s ecology. We will take the opportunity to look at maps of how the rivers of our region shaped the mountains and valleys before going out into the field to follow a stream until it reaches the French Broad River. \nThis program takes place in the classroom and outdoors. Please come prepared to walk on uneven terrain and some exploration off trail. Wear sturdy shoes/boots and dress appropriately for the weather. \nLauren Lampley began her career at Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation as a Park Naturalist which solidified Lauren’s interests in ecology and a passion for teaching others. She has led walks and hikes in a variety of subjects from Geology to Birding and especially enjoys learning and teaching about our local ecology. She currently works at the NC Arboretum in the Adult Education Department and manages the Blue Ridge Naturalist Certificate of Merit. \n\nMembers: Remember to enter your promo code upon checkout to receive your 10% member discount!
