SUMMARY:Forest Bathing Retreat: Gratitude and Reciprocity
DESCRIPTION:Forest Bathing Retreat: Gratitude and Reciprocity\nwith Christal Hebal \nSaturday\, November 7  |  2 – 5 pm \nRegister Here!\n“Paying attention is a form of reciprocity with the living world\, receiving the gifts with open eyes and open heart.” – Robin Wall Kimmerer\, Braiding Sweetgrass \nNoticing the abundance that surrounds us and practicing gratitude is powerful. Join us as we cultivate our awareness and appreciation for the many gifts of the Earth – the air we breathe\, the water we drink\, the food we eat. How might we reciprocate? As we deepen our connection with Mother Earth\, we strengthen our commitment to protect her. \n“Attention is the beginning of devotion.” – Mary Oliver \nThis immersive afternoon nature connection retreat will enliven your senses as you slow down\, linger in liminality and calm your weary mind. Together\, we will explore natural pathways to homeostasis and equilibrium that will help us navigate life’s ups and downs\, as well as the upcoming holiday season. \nYour guide\, Christa Hebal\, will lead you on a peaceful saunter through the fall forest\, weaving mindfulness\, breathwork\, forest bathing and nature therapy together for a restorative afternoon on some of the trails less traveled at the North Carolina Arboretum. We’ll celebrate the experience in community\, enjoying a special wild-foraged tea ceremony and snacks. Bring an open mind and an open heart. All are welcome. Presented through Adult & Continuing Education Programs in collaboration with Asheville Wellness Tours. \nChrista Hebal is a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. Born and raised in the mountains of northeast Tennessee\, she has lived in Asheville for 24 years. SUMMARY:Gratitude: Connecting with the Heart Through Creative Expression
DESCRIPTION:Gratitude: Connecting with the Heart Through Creative Expression\nwith Catherine Willows \nThursday\, November 19  |  10 am – 1 pm \nRegister Here!\nIn the depths of autumn\, Thanksgiving invites a pause—to step outside the momentum of everyday life\, connect with your heart\, and open to the energy of gratitude. Gathering together in the Arboretum gardens\, we’ll attune to the natural world of the season and the quiet wisdom within. Gratitude is more than something you think about or name. It is an energy\, a quality of presence\, a frequency. When you pause long enough to connect with it\, something shifts—awakening a greater receptivity to the richness of what is here\, to what has touched and nourished you\, and to what is quietly ready to be revealed. \nThrough intuitive painting\, guided reflection\, and expressive art-making\, we’ll explore gratitude through color\, imagery\, symbols\, and words. Noticing what catches your attention and allowing the creative process to lead\, space opens for what is within to become visible\, felt\, or known in its own way. \nNo artistic experience is needed\, only curiosity\, a willingness to listen inwardly\, and an openness to discover what reveals itself. All art materials will be provided. \nCatherine Willows is a Registered Nurse\, Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach\, and Transformational Creativity Coach\, and founder of Willows Coaching and Consulting. While holding sacred space\, she guides adults in awakening their inner creativity — moving beyond the demands of daily life into greater flow\, self-discovery\, and joy through intuitive art-making processes. Catherine believes creativity and our connection to the natural world are deeply interwoven — both vital pillars of wellbeing\, supporting nervous system regulation and inner equanimity\, and together essential for living a meaningful\, embodied life aligned with purpose and authentic expression. \n●  Members: Remember to enter your promo code upon checkout to receive your 10% member discount!
