DESCRIPTION:Aurora Studio & Gallery is an Asheville-based studio that provides support for self-discovery using visual arts for artists in recovery from behavioral health\, addiction and homelessness. Currently\, the studio is featuring an exhibit in the Arboretum’s Education Center gallery titled Rays of Dawn; Growth through Nature\, which highlights the exploration of the ways nature provides solace and healing. \nOn Tuesday\, September 6\, from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.\, the studio will host a free plein air painting demonstrations with Asheville Urban Landscape Painters. The event is free – standard parking fees still apply – and will be hosted outside in the Arboretum gardens.

SUMMARY:Frederick Law Olmsted Sculpture Unveiling
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we unveil the first larger-than-life-sized sculpture of Frederick Law Olmsted\, the father of American Landscape Architecture. The unveiling will occur at 5:00 p.m. inside the Arboretum’s Blue Ridge Court\, located along the Grand Promenade. Artist Zenos Frudakis will be on-site for the unveiling and will be available for Q&A after the event. \nParking will be free starting at 4 p.m.
