Please show your current membership card or check in with our guest list for entry.
As a thank you for your generous support, you are invited to the exclusive preview of the Spring Plant Sale featuring unique plants grown in The North Carolina Arboretum’s Production Greenhouse – including many of the beautiful plants featured in our seasonal landscapes.
Spend the afternoon with us and take a piece of the Arboretum home with you – all proceeds from this sale benefit The North Carolina Arboretum Society and support the Arboretum’s educational programs, gardens, trails and exhibits. The Preview will be held outdoors, rain or shine, in parking bay 3. No RSVP is needed.
- Live Music Enjoy the sounds of bluegrass with Aubrey and Justin Eisenman while you shop.
- Mini Floral Bar with Mountain Floral Celebrate the growing season! Join local floral-grower and designer Rachel Brownlee of Mountain Floral for a complimentary flower arranging craft. Create a mini arrangement in a vintage glass bud vase using selection of locally-grown fresh florals. Supplies are limited.
- Silent Auction The Production Greenhouse is spring cleaning and making room for new plants! Add to your collection and bid on special mature specimens at the Silent Auction. Bids will open during the Plant Sale Preview and close at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 29. Plants must be picked up between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 30. *A holding charge of 10% will be applied if arrangements need to be made for plant pickup outside of this window.
- Arbor Eatery at The Preview Take a break and grab a bite. Snacks, cold treats and sandwiches will be for sale at the Preview. If you would like to dine at The Arbor Eatery at the Education Center, shoppers will receive a $1 off coupon- open until 6:00 pm.
- Echoes of The Forest Learn about this organization that takes salvaged Hurricane Helene trees and repurposes them into art by woodworkers and local artists to educate the public about this significant, geological, 1,000-year event about forestry and our area.
