  • New Growth: Artists Respond to the Forest

    Baker Exhibit Center

    The North Carolina Arboretumโ€™s new Winter Artist Residency program welcomes Asheville Artists to engage with the landscape during the shift from winter to spring. This evolving exhibition presents aesthetic responses to the sights and sounds of the dormant to waking states of our surroundings from January to March each year.

    We encourage you to visit periodically as the exhibition unfolds. Return viewers will discover the beauty of our environment as the seasons turn and gain a deeper understanding of the work coming from emerging contemporary artists of our region.

  • Snow: Tiny Crystals, Global Impact

    September 20, 2025 โ€“ January 4, 2026 in the Baker Exhibit Hall. Snow: Tiny Crystals, Global Impact provides interactive learning experiences that explore the nature and wonder of snow and the impact of climate change on our snowy planet.

  • National Geographic: The Greatest Wildlife Photographs

    Open January 18 - May 11 in the Baker Exhibit Hall. Arboretum visitors will witness some of the most surprising animal behavior in the new National Geographic exhibition, โ€œThe Greatest Wildlife Photographs.โ€ The very best wildlife pictures from the pages of National Geographic magazine have been chosen to be displayed in this exhibition.

  • Bugs: Outside the Box

    Where can you see a butterfly with a five foot wingspan, or a longhorn beetle with antennae more than twelve feet across? The answers can be found amongst the enormous sculptures on display in BUGS: Outside the Box! Open May 25 through September 8, 2024 in the Baker Exhibit Center.
